Laura is the Founder and CEO of Team Lipstick, New York City's most successful, all female triathlon team.  Her background includes 20 years of dancing, 20 years as a group fitness instructor, 10 years as a nationally ranked ballroom dance champion, and since 2006, she has also been an active triathlete.  Laura was published in New York Magazine’s “Best of New York” as one of the city’s top fitness instructors, as well as in Competitor and Triathlete Magazines for her accomplishments with Team Lipstick.  Her celebrity client list includes Nicole Kidman, Dr. Sanjay Gupta (who she trained for his first triathlon), and Soledad O'Brien.  Laura's mantra is to "never ignore what your heart beats for".

In 2008 Laura became a triathlon coach and business owner then she started the incredible company, Team Lipstick. It has been a stellar, life changing experience, and the one endeavor she is the most proud of.

After spending 10 years on the competitive ballroom dance circuit, she was looking for a change.  She had a lot of triathlete friends at the time so she purchased a bike and began riding with them.  When it was ‘just the girls' they jokingly referred to themselves as Team Lipstick, since they were as entirely concerned about having a great workout as they were about what their hair looked like when they removed their helmets at the most popular local hotspots for NYC cyclists enjoying a coffee break from their ride.

Laura signed up for her first triathlon with just 12 weeks to prepare, and she had absolutely no idea how to swim.  Growing up in Brooklyn she wasn't actually taught to swim.  Swimming was in direct conflict with all of the hairspray and makeup they wore to the beach.  So she hired a swim coach, swam 6 days a week (out of pure fear), and was prepared for her ½ mile open water swim by race day.  Having coached herself for everything but the swim, a lot of mistakes were made, but a lot was learned as well.  Wet suit zippers go in the back not the front, your feet don’t need a special bath after the swim, transitions should not take 7 minutes, and no one brushes their hair before the run.  It was an eye opening, amazing, and funny experience.

At the exact moment she crossed the finish line she thought 2 things...One, that it was easy, and two, that she wanted to start an all-women’s team.  Her goal was to provide a safe, supportive environment for women to excel and thrive as athletes.  She wanted to attract strong minded women.  Women who support other women.  Women who are positive, who don't mind getting uncomfortable, who embrace physical challenges.  What she got was so much more.  The women of Team Lipstick ultimately defined the brand.  They are a family, they are fearless, they look out for each other, and they are forever in search of the next big race, goal, achievement, or crazy bunch of fun.

The women of Team Lipstick are committed to living a healthy, sporty lifestyle.  They are more than just inspiring training partners, they are a family of strong, successful, positive women who are enthusiastic about supporting one another.

Team Lipstick hosts Travel with lipstick which includes exotic, life changing, bucket list retreats for both women and men who crave adventure and exploration. Travel to wild nature.  Swim, bike, run, rappel and soar as your means of transportation.  Do all of these things with happy, positive, FUN people, because fit travelers tend to fit that description perfect

Mary Lee’s personal turnaround came as a stay-at-home mother with four children under seven-years-old who endured a divorce that took her and her children from the country club life to public assistance from where she re-invented her life to support her family.

Mary Lee has a unique perspective with 20+ years as a CEO and currently leads a $24 million organization within a 60,000 employee organization as well as coaches executives on how mindful practice and a mindset shift lead to playing big in the corner office and life. Swap overwhelmed for freedom.

Mary Lee is the leadership columnist for "The Huffington Post" and is also the recipient of the Honorary Woman if Courage Award by Pennsylvania Women Work, The Lifetime Achievement Award by Pittsburgh Society of Association Executives, and The Women of Integrity Award by Pittsburgh Professional Women. Mary Lee is the "Mindful Leadership" columnist for Smart Business Magazine and is a former reporter for The

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. She’s been featured in Money Magazine, ABC, CBS, NBC, NPR, Yahoo.com, U.S. News and World Report, msn.com, Forbes.com, CareerBuilder.com and Monster.com.

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. She’s been featured in Money Magazine, ABC, CBS, NBC, NPR, Yahoo.com, U.S. News and World Report, msn.com, Forbes.com, CareerBuilder.com and Monster.com.

If you are not in the place you’d like to be in your career and happiness, Mary not only walked a mile in your shoes - she's broken a few heels and changed shoes dozens of times thinking change was enough. She knows what it's like to think your options are limited and you aren't sure what decision to make so you do nothing and a burdensome mediocrity becomes your new normal. Or you try new things yet the results stay the same. You doubt if you can get it all done, be happy, get the business or engage those who matter.

Mary and her children were on public assistance and She wondered how she would move forward and if her children would ever ever go to college. She had a stack of business and self-help books next to her bed that were up to my pillow. Mary mentored under people, took classes, purchased online programs. She worked hard, advanced to the C- Suite running organizations worth up to $26 million, created successful businesses, became a turnaround agent but noticed with all my success she was stressed, detached and had little time or intimacy for the things that mattered most to me. Then she studied and integrated mindful practice into my life and instead of chasing down change, meaningful answers came flooding my way. It's much easier and happier this way.

Over time you adapt to limiting mindsets or situations such that you tell yourself that nothing is really wrong and this is just the way things are. That moves you into adapting to a sense that there is nothing you can do about it. And here you play small. It's out of your hands anyway. You're not even sure what makes you unique.

There are mindsets, practices, phases of your work and personal life and relationships that should come to an end to open up the space for the next one. Unplugging things whose time has passed allows for

the energetic burst of innovation that propels you forward to fulfillment. But sometimes you aren't even sure what to unplug. The lesson? Good cannot begin until bad ends

The takeaways from this episode are:

  • Your circumstances don't have to define you
  • Good cannot begin until bad ends
  • Your options are never as limited as you think
  • A positive mindset changes your outcome
  • How to stop being trapped in the victim mindset
  • The importance of being present and enjoying the moment
  • Your work, career, business, leadership style, personal life is directly tied to your mindful awareness
  • You are enough just the way you are
  • when your miserable do something that puts you back in that mindset of where you were happy.
  • How to make time for the little things even when your stressed to the max

I love, eat, and breathe fitness, so I was beyond honored to interview The First Lady of Physical Fitness, Elaine LaLanne . She is the wife of fitness legend Jack LaLanne.

I'm not going to lie.   I got pretty teary-eyed when I was preparing for this podcast about Jack and Elaine LaLanne. Together they have created the most amazing legacy that we all still benefit from today. You know what they say; behind every great man is an incredible woman.

Elaine LaLanne is nothing less than incredible! At 91 she puts us all to shame.  Elaine does full push ups, takes no medication, and is as sharp as a tack. In this episode we talk about how Elaine, the then smoker and donut lover, met Jack, The Godfather of Fitness and he changed her life forever.  Jack also had a life-changing event happen to him; perhaps that was why he was so interested in making an impact in other people’s lives.  Jack was ill as a teen and his entire life was changed from a lecture by Paul Braggs of Braggs Aminos. This was a lecture in which Jack was almost turned away because it was sold out. Paul made room for Jack and his mother right up front. Talk about divine intervention.

As Jack got older he wanted people to realize that age was just a number. He set out to prove it by completing surreal physical feats, one of which was his infamous swim from Alcatraz to the mainland with his hands and feet shackled behind his back towing a 1000 pound boat at 60 years young. Jack really stood in the gap as a pioneer.  He was responsible for so much of what we see today in fitness, from creating the selectorized weight machines, cable/pulley machines, and leg extension, to having the idea for The Smith Machine.  Jack and Elaine encouraged and introduced women to the weight room, back then they were of the thinking that women belonged in the kitchen and not in the weight room. The backwards thinking was that women would look like men if they weight trained.  Also the thinking in that day was men in sports shouldn’t weight train, because they wouldn’t be able to move as fast and if they were muscle bound and that it would slow them down. Jack LaLanne,The Godfather of Fitness, was amazing from the sheer feats of physical fitness he performed, to the machines he created that still we use today.  Jack was also responsible for creating the first protein shake and protein bar.  Jack was such a pioneer and an icon in the industry and his wife was right alongside him being on the air helping him do all that he did.  She is a fabulous lady and I am so inspired by her. I met her at the World IDEA Blog Fest and it was an instant connection. She was such a gracious lady.  I took a leap and asked her if she would do a Facebook live video with me and she did. It didn't take the first time so I had to get up the courage to go up and ask her again and she was such so gracious. We did it one more time and now I’m interviewing her on my podcast. ”Life favors the bold.”

This was such a quality episode. Lindsey has suffered from panic attacks, shyness, emotional eating, and low self-esteem. Learn how she turned all of this around to loving her selfie. How she evolved by taking responsibility for her life and evolved to being The Food Mood Girl, doing a Ted-X talk, starting her own publishing company, and having a life and a body she loves.

Dr. Isaiah Hankel is the best-selling author of “The Black Hole Focus”, and the creator of three multinational businesses and manager of multimillion dollar businesses. Isaiah is a Doctor of Anatomy and Cell Biology and has worked extensively as a Fortune 500 consultant in the biotechnology industry and with some of the world’s leading corporations. He has also presented at many of the world’s premier academic institutions, including Harvard, Stanford, Oxford, and Cambridge University, The Pasteur Institute and The Curie Institute.

I was surprised to learn that Isaiah wasn’t always focused. In fact, He was diagnosed with ADD and ADHD several times growing up. He struggled in college and barely made it into graduate school, where he was put onto academic probation after my first year. Isaiah didn’t come from much either. He grew up in Idaho and worked on a sheep farm. To get by in graduate school, Isaiah slept in a friend’s basement and secretly worked as a janitor.

Isaiah said that learning how to focus on his life changed everything. Less than three years after becoming a doctor, He formed three successful, multinational businesses and started managing a multimillion dollar product line. He became a prolific public speaker and traveled the world over and over again, giving more than 300 seminars in over 30 different countries. Isaiah is the author of the bestselling book, Black Hole Focus, and broke the Facebook World Record for the most shared post ever.

The things that stand out about Isaiah are his wisdom, advice, and quotes that literally slap you awake. Lord knows sometimes we need it. It takes a special kind of person to tell you something in a quote that smacks you right between the eyes. Many times its something you’ve needed to hear your whole life and you are just finally getting it. Almost everything Isaiah teaches you to apply to your life is based on actual science; he is the cheeky scientist after all.

Here are just a few of the brilliant take a ways you will get from this interview

  • Good people will not come into your life until the negative ones are gone.
  • The type of people to surround yourself with.
  • Why you need to let go of negative people and haters and cut them out of your life.
  • Statistics that show you are more likely to make bad decisions, perform poorly, and become more negative yourself, when you’re surrounded by negativity
  • How to spot fake friends.
  • You are worth of living out your biggest dreams. They are in you for a reason.
  • Attracting the right people to your side.
  • How your mindset can take you higher.
