“Not your mother’s menopause”

I don’t know about you but I have heard HORROR stories about menopause. From terrible mood swings, to the loss of your sex drive, it seems as if it is all doom and gloom once you hit a certain age. However does it HAVE to be that way? Are we completely out of control of what happens to our bodies by a certain age? My very own GOBGYN, Dr. Rosalind Jackson (“Dr. Roz”), joins us today to put our fears to rest and share what we can do NOW to regain our health and truly experience the best years of our lives.

 Listen To This Episode Here

Dr. Roz says that it’s her mission is to help women understand that they do not have to “suffer” through menopause. There are concrete actions that you can take now to regain control of your hormones and experience the same levels of energy that you had when you were younger. In this episode we talk about the importance of gut health, the importance of investing in your sexual health, the trick to beating sugar cravings, and even what your man can do to improve his hormonal health. This is a MUST listen whether you are menopause age or now. It’s time for women to take their health into their own hands.

Questions I Asked Dr. Roz:

  • How many women sit back and silently suffer through menopause?
  • If my cortisol level is high should I exercise more or less?
  • What are other ways to restore gut health outside of diet?

Nicole Moneer has been in the health and fitness industry for close to 2 decades.  After being chronically ill and on Rx and OTC drugs for over 30 years, she was sick and tired of being sick. With major lifestyle changes starting at age 33, Nicole was able to turn her health around for the better with proper consistent nutrition, workouts and supplementation.  From being a NASM CPT, to an IFBB Bikini Pro and Olympian, to being an internationally published fitness model, a sponsored athlete for industry giant bodybuilding.com and to getting hired for the 1994-1995 Chicago Bulls Cheerleaders, The Luvabulls, during the iconic Michael Jordan days, Nicole is more than accomplished.  She has the mind, soul and spirit to heal and change lives for the better just as she has changed hers. Today at age 44 her health is way better than at age 24!  As a Chek Holistic Lifestyle Coach, she works with both male and female clients on customized nutritional lifestyle planning, exercise programs and stress management.

One of the first things clients notice after working with her is that their energy levels improve, they have less bloat and many of their chronic symptoms or conditions are reduced or completely gone. Her book, What Lies Behind The Smile, is available on. Amazon.  She just launched a second book, The Healthy Mom Handbook, which is a nutrition and exercise system that takes women through all stages of motherhood; preconception, pregnancy and childbirth. If trying to conceive, or if you are wanting to have an easier uncomplicated childbirth and a quicker post-pregnancy recovery visit www.healthmomhandbook.com.   Changing your lifestyle and the foods you eat daily, is one of the hardest things to do but Nicole can attest that in the end it is worth it and now as a mom even more important since moms have the greatest influence on their families health.

What's really going on in their lives? Like Nicole's book says "What lies behind the smile?"

It doesn't matter how many salads you eat, how many protein shakes you drink, or how many workouts you put in when you have relationship stress it can effect your health. Do the relationship work,it matters. If your miserable in your relationship, job success isn't as enjoyable.
